Kristi Kangilaski was born in Viljandi in 1982. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in printmaking in 2013. She is an illustrator, a book designer, a graphic designer, a writer, and a member of the Estonian Graphic Designers Association. Kangilaski regularly collaborates with the Estonian magazines Täheke and Pere ja Kodu.
