There’s no reason to envy the Sleep Monster who looks after Clove Lane number 14 because that’s where Max lives and Max doesn’t want to go to bed at all. There are so many better things to do such as listening to a bedtime story and another one and another one, or seeing what happens when two locomotives approach each other at high speed. Neither moaning nor threatening helps and the Sleep Monster is at the end of its tether until he finally has an idea. This picture book deals with an all-time theme in a humorous way. Marion Goedelt’s lovely illustrations are full of funny details which will be loved by adults and children.
